Veteran singer Regine Velasquez recently slammed Department of Foreign Affair (DFA) Secretary Teddy Locsin, Jr. due to his statement about Chinese vessels getting endangered giant clams in Panatag Shoal.
REGINE V. PANTAPAT NI LENI KAY TEDDY?!Get real girls!

Teddy stated in his controversial social media post that no person, not even him, goes to war just to defend clams.
Because of this, Regine tweeted her thoughts and she expressed that the Chinese vessels are invading the territory of the Philippines.
Regine wrote: “Ang akala ko pa naman matalino ka. Ako ay [simpleng] tao lamang na may simpleng pagiisip. These people are invading our territory they are not just taking food [sinisira] nila ang ating karagatan!!!!”
After releasing these strong words, Regine got slammed by veteran TV5 anchor Ben Tulfo. In a Facebook live session last Sunday, Tulfo criticized Velasquez for her comments about the government official’s remark. The journalist stated that the celebrity should think first before opening her mouth and that she must have enough knowledge about the matter.
Tulfo said: “Ang mensahe ko sa ‘yo, Regine Velasquez, next time you open your mouth, think. Make sure na may laman ang utak mo. Make sure alam mo yung isyu and you can talk about it. Hindi mo ito balwarte. Yung kaalaman mo, itago mo na lang.
“Ano bang alam nitong si Regine Velasquez other than kumanta lamang? Ang isang entertainer na I’m not trying to pull down, I question yung kanyang credentials when it comes to college, I don’t even know if she does have any subject in political science.
“So, yung statement nitong si Regine Velasquez, for me, is something na nakisawsaw, nakiangkas sa isyu na wala naman talagang alam. Mas maganda siguro pag ang isang indibidwal nagsalita, let it be someone expert in the field,” Tulfo bravely quipped.
Meanwhile, Regine’s husband singer and composer Ogie Alcasid defended her wife against the radio host. Ogie immediately aired his thoughts in a tweet addressed to Tulfo.
Sir @bitagbentulfo . I offer my cheek to you. After you have maligned my wife I ask that you focus on me. She is after all a lady. God bless you sir.
